BIG ROOM DJs 2 (NUKLEAZ) Mixed by Mario Piu’ & Nick Sentience

The second in Nukleaz’s Big Room DJs series.

The first mix by Mario Piu’ starts off sweet and charmingly with Marc Et Claude’s ‘Loving You’. That is before the synths and bass kicks in. This is meant to be the Big Room. “Prepare yourself properly, We’re talking the big room here and we want to get into that vibe.” And so we are warned in the CD sleeve.

Hard trance and hard house. These two styles are seeing much of a comeback in recent months and are well represented here. Big tunes such as ‘The Vision’ and ‘My Beat’ feature in Mario Piu’s hard trance mix. Taiko’s ‘Silence’ (not to be confused with the song of the same name by Delerium) certainly will send hands in the air with its percussive rhythm. Marco Zaffarano’s ‘Weltklang’ and Mario Piu’s own production ‘Morpheus’ brings the mix to a close with Bang EP’s ‘Wax’

Nick Sentience gives us a warning of audio influx and advises us to open our minds. His mix begins focusing on the progressive side of house/trance. ‘Pilgrimage To Paradise’, ‘Sparc’ and ‘Mama Konda’ are mere appetisers to a mix that is nothing less than hard. ‘Up Da Bass’ signals the start of hard pounding menacing grooves, hard house style. Vitae’s self explanatory ‘Energy Flow’,  Eamonn’s Fevah’s bass and synth heavy ‘Your Turn’. Nick Sentience & Phil Reynold’s DMC features some serious turntablism samplings.
