NUBREED GLOBAL UNDERGROUND: DANNY HOWELLS (BOXED)

As with his previous mix compilations (Nocturnal Frequencies series), Danny’s NuBreed mix features a number of exclusive tracks. First off is 16B’s ‘Let The Show Begin’, one of two tracks specially written by Omid Nourizadah (a.k.a. 16B) for Danny. It’s always good to have friends around.

Disc One warms-up with a few funky and groovy tunes in the likes of Echomen’s ‘Orient’ and The Beloved’s ‘Timeslip’. You get the feeling that this side of the mix is to ease one in. With the focus on funkier elements, it presents itself as deep and inviting. The mix takes it up a notch with Vegas Soul’s ‘Mute’ before launching into tribal house with favourites such as ‘Voices’. Science Dept’s latest single ‘Breathe’ completes this mix.

16B’s unreleased ‘Escape’ begins the mix on disc two with a dreamy and percussive feel. No more warm-up, you’re in peak territory. The mix is tighter and darker. Saeed & Palash’s ‘Dooms Day’ adds some punch with its dark rthythms and so does Lexicon Avenue’s ‘Midnight On West 27^{th Street’. Not forgetting the funky elements that made disc one, Luke Slater’s ‘All Exhale’ adds to the body of the mix. Groovy. DJ Nukem Vs. Chab’s ‘Shaiva’ preludes Danny’s favourite tune.
