[Danny Howell]

“Good things come to those who wait…” an apt saying for Danny Howells, a turntable maestro with ten years experience under his belt. The last two years have seen this Hastings bred talent rise through the ranks to be accorded the position of number 10 in DJ Magazine’s latest poll. These years of dedication and an unrivalled attention to detail have earned Danny a place among the big boys of the club World after honing his talents the hard way.

Danny Howells’ is one of the few DJs on the scene today that truly has a style of his own. It is a  sound developed through playing warm up sets, main sets, alternative sets, playing countless venues, in countless countries the World over. Now, Danny’s own brand of “deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse” has caught the imagination of the planets dancefloors. It is for this reason Howells is resident at Home (London), Renaissance (Nottingham) and Twilo (New York) as well as a sought after guest for everyone else under the Sun.

Danny’s well thought out and meticulously mixed sets can be heard on his own album series, ‘Nocturnal Frequencies”, which is now up to number 3. He has also released albums in the USA and Holland as well as a recent release on Global Underground as part of the ‘Nu Breed’ Series. There will be another innovative mix project in the pipeline later this year.

Back home , Danny’s production skills are being gradually honed. His main focus, Science Dept. with co-producer Dick Trevor, has just signed an album deal with Renaissance. The next single ‘Breathe’ which features the soulful vocals of Eririe is already becoming a Radio 1 favourite. There is also another guise, ‘Kinkyfunk’ the first track of which has been licensed to Yoshitoshi. He has also just completed a collaborative track with Dutch wizard Stef (Paco,Stef and Frederick) and there are more killer tracks on the way with the likes of Funk D’Void, HippE and Halo and John Creamer. After the success of remixes for the likes of BT and David Morales there will surely be a few more big remix projects this year too.

The year 2001 is undoubtably Danny’s year…….
